Taking unused space and creating a dream kitchen

This kitchen space had been the same for over 20 years. So it was well overdue for an update! Fortunately, over the years, the adjacent room had changed purpose, making it the perfect candidate for expansion of the kitchen. What started out as a 200 sq ft space, now had the opportunity to approach 400 sq ft.
We got right to work planning for a kitchen with lots of storage. Four pantry cabinets worth of storage to be exact! Between the large pantry cabinets in the old kitchen and the new coffee bar area in the expanded space, there is ample room for appliances, snacks, and other goodies.
When considering a large renovation like this, it is always a good time to think about the ways in which you will use a new kitchen. Meaning, a great time to relocate and add new outlets, install ventilation, and even throw in the water line to refrigerator. Even if you don't use all of these items immediately, you'll be glad had later.
Especially when you consider adding the wow factor such as the striking blue backsplash! This beautiful color pulls from specks in the countertop and immediately directs your line of sight upward in the space. Highlughting the floor to ceiling finishes such as the new stainless hood vents and crown moldung.
